Tours in Nepal start from the culturally rich capital city of Kathmandu and it is very important to know few places where you would like to spend some peaceful time. With record-high seven world heritage sites within a city, there are many other beautiful naturally and culturally affluent places where you can visit for an extra insightful and delightful touring experience. Allocate an extra day before you return and visit these places in search of peace and serenity.
- Swayambhunath Stupa:
Swayambhunath stupa is a world heritage site located at top of a small hill that is within walking distance from Thamel and Kathmandu durbar square. You will be welcomed by the large flux of monkeys as you arrive closer to the stupa. The site is recommended to visit early in the morning for warm sunrise views and the perfect place for a morning walk and capturing the best panoramic pictures. With the large prayer wheel, temples, and prayer flags with soothing traditional music in the background, you will definitely find some peace during your Nepal tours over here. - The Garden of Dreams:
I would call it a hidden garden in-between busy streets of Thamel and Durbarmarg. With nominal fees, you can enter into a completely different atmosphere where you would love to spend few hours. You can take food items from outside or order few delicacies at a heritage-style restaurant inside. The blossoming flowers, library, restaurant, and most importantly a beautiful green garden. This place is recommended to visit at least once during your Nepal tour. - Ancient town of Bhaktapur :
Drive a couple of kilometers east from central Kathmandu, then you will arrive at the medieval town of Bhaktapur. In contrast to Kathmandu, the town gives a sense of purity, and untouched heritage houses, temples, palaces, museums, and monuments. Visit a huge pond, just outside the entrance of Durbar square, and on a clear day, the Himalayas of the Langtang range is also visible from there. The major thing to consider is the cultural aspect in a small town. - Boudhanath Stupa:
Boudhanath Stupa is recommended to visit during dusk where the stupa shines with hundreds of lights being lightened around with beautiful sunset views. Nearby monasteries, prayer flags, monks encircling the stupa, and local shops/restaurants around with fresh air make it the most peaceful place in the city. Boudhanath stupa, a UNESCO world heritage site is just a few kilometers north of Kathmandu where you would just love to spend some peaceful time ending the day. - Shivapuri National Park:
Another peaceful place with lots of greenery and hiking opportunity is Shivapuri National Park. From endangered species to rare floras and faunas, it is the nearest national park from Kathmandu and you can reach there just by an hour of a drive towards Sundarijal and an hour hike to enter the national park. The striking waterfalls, walking through forests, huge rocks, and dam site, you would love to visit here during your Tours Nepal if you love to get one step closer to nature.
