First of all, let me tell you that many of the treks which are planned to be done in the Annapurna region, normally start from the scenic touristic city of Pokhara. Hence, your ABC trek also takes you on a journey to Pokhara where you begin your marvelous trek into the famous Annapurna region. A fun fact about to be known about Pokhara is that it is the second-largest city in Nepal after Kathmandu but it is not largely popular among tourists for that, rather mainly for its serene Phewa lake and picturesque views of the Himalayan snowcapped mountains. Here you can do a ton of touristic activities like boating, paragliding, zip flyer, cycling, ultra-light flight, and many more thus many tourists prefer Pokhara for its adventurous thrilled packed activities too.

2. Ghorepani

The next point of interest is the Ghorepani village which lies on your way to the Annapurna Base Camp. Located in the Dhaulagiri Zone of northern-central Nepal, Ghorepani is a popular Gurung village at an elevated height of 2,874 meters above sea level. Being one of the largest villages inside the Annapurna region, Ghorepani truly is a place worth taking some time out to witness the incredible scenery and daily livelihood of people. It is just 17 kilometers from Beni town and has got everything from little streams of waters to flourishing forests with luxurious ecosystems thriving inside. You may also want to know that you can get clear perspectives of the gleaming Himalayan mountains in the morning so it is a place worth waking up early in the morning.

3. Poonhill

Without a doubt, trekkers who come to the Annapurna region surely don’t want to miss the eye-catching scene of sunrise over the Himalayan Annapurna ranges from the popular viewpoint of Poonhill. It can be thought of as the best place in the Annapurna region to get grandiose panoramas of the Himalayan mountains which are thought as being so fantastic that you will barely put your camera away while you are at Poonhill. Hence, a lot of tourists bring their families including the elderly and children to Poonhill just to let them see the magnificent sunrise from Poonhill which scatters the beam of sunlight slowly over the majestic snowcapped mountains including Mt. Dhaulagiri. Anyone who wants to reach there must climb 3381 steps early in the morning before actually getting there but the reward is totally worth it.

4. Machapuchare Base Camp

Machapuchare

Mt. Machapuchare is a very revered holy mountain in Nepal thus it is not allowed for trekkers and mountaineers to climb but that doesn’t mean you cannot get to visit the base camp of Machapuchare. As on your trek route to ABC, you first pass through a trail that leads to MBC or the Machapuchare Base Camp where you get to capture some scenic pictures of the Fishtail Mountain. Largely associated with the Hindu God Shiva, MBC is situated at a high elevation of 3,700 meters above sea level where trekkers can get all-encompassing panoramic vistas. Machapuchare’s religious significance may sound unappealing to some western trekkers but in reality, its environment and natural surroundings have been successfully keeping intact and unharmed due to its religious aspects.

5. Annapurna Base Camp

If you are going for the Annapurna Base Camp trek, then we should not need to remind you that the Annapurna Base Camp in itself is the most highlighted point of interest in your trek. But still, let me tell you a little about it, ABC is a small flat terrain bounded by Annapurna South and the other Annapurna massifs and is the base camp of Mt. Annapurna which has an elevation of 8,091m making it the 10th highest mountain in the world. Simply after enduring the treacherous walk over the hills past the indigenous local villages, you sure will feel the joy of achievement as you reach the base camp of Mt. Annapurna. Upon reaching here you can take your cameras out as you are bound to get some great shots around the base camp along with some selfies of you being on it.

6. Jhinu Danda

is one of the last remarkable sites in your Annapurna Base Camp trek as it lies on your way back from the ABC following a 45 min trail from Chhomrong village. Located at an elevation of 1,780 meters above sea level, Jhinu Danda is largely popular for its natural hot springs which provide a place of salvage and relaxation to cope with your tedious trek. Dip in one of the local hot springs available here and just let your body get soothed out by its warm therapeutic waters. After Jhinu Danda almost every trekker tends to head towards Nayapul where they take a drive back to the paradise city of Pokhara where at last they end their trek.

All in all, every destination situated along the Annapurna Base Camp trek trail have their own alluring elements which appeal to all kinds of travelers and explorers so it will be quite an accomplishment to visit all of those places in just one go on your trek to ABC.
