Why to trek Everest Base Camp

Everest base camp trek is a well known and most popular trekking adventure in Nepal for good reasons as it offers spectacular views of grand Himalayas like Amadablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku including top of the world, Mt. Everest. Everest base camp hiking adventure initiates after we take a scenic breathtaking mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. This awesome flight highlights the panoramic views of Everest Himalayan range at an eye level that lands at tiny airstrip in between the hills from where your adventure begins.
Following the EBC route via Phakding, first acclimatization point and major town of Khumbu region, Namche Bazar is reached. Here, from Namche there are couples of day hiking excursions available for perfect acclimatization. Hike to Everest view hotel being the popular one, you can also visit nearby villages like Thame, Khunde and Khumjung for more cultural insights enjoying mountainous landscapes.
After adapting according to higher altitudes, Namche is left behind and trek continues towards Tengboche, which is also the cultural hub of Everest region. The century’s old ancient Tengboche monastery with Himalayas on the backdrop, visiting this shrine remains as the highlight of the day. Also stunning Everest Himalayas are seen from this point.
Further the EBC trails continue towards Lobuche via Dingboche where the second acclimatization day is recommended. While embarking for high altitude treks like Everest Base Camp, ample acclimatization points are important to avoid acute mountain sickness.
In this way, next day, we hike towards Gorakshep from where we push ourselves towards Everest base camp. And stepping at base camp of Everest is taken as achievement in itself. Following, for capturing upclose and outstanding views of Everest during sunrise or sunset, we take a hike towards Kalapthher. Finally, tracing the steps back to Lukla airstrip, a short and scenic flight takes us back to Kathmandu that announces conclusion of this once in a lifetime of adventure.
